Alerts are system-generated messages used to warn you that an observation falls outside of the baseline health ranges for a resident. Alerts may generate for a range of different areas, including weight, fluid intake, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels.

You need permissions to view and action alerts, please reference our handy guide for role information.

Set baseline health information

Before alerts generate, the baseline health information for a resident must be in place. If you need to view or edit this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Residents then click on the resident’s name.

  2. In the top-right, click Clinical.

  3. Under Baseline health information, click Edit.

  4. Enter the information you require, then click Save.

View alerts

These alerts show on a lot of screens within the system, including the Residents search screen or resident’s profile, however it’s easiest is to access them from either the home page or menu bar.

  • Click Resident alerts.

From the Alerts tab, you can further filter the information using the drop-down lists to give you a specific resident, specific alert type or for an alert status.

You can also select the Show alerts in a custom date range? checkbox to further drill down to a date range.

Action an alert

  1. View the alert then click Action.

  2. Enter the action taken then click Acknowledge and action.

Once complete, the alert shows your action taken comments.

Keep this alert visible

You can click into an alert to view it, but now actually complete it till you’re ready.

  1. View the alert then click Action.

  2. Click Keep this alert visible.

📌Note: If you start writing action comments, you’ll need to either complete the action, or discard the edit.

All complete alerts write a progress note for the resident, stating who did it, the action taken and the date.
